The next walk is March 23, 2024. Depending on how this spring unfolds, we should cover at least 35 to 40 of the edible, medicinal and utilitarian plants of the central Virginia area. We'll ID and sample some of the edibles, ID and discuss the uses of the medicinal plants and finally, show how some of the utilitarian plants can be made into cordage, implements or used for friction fire. The walk will last 2.5 to 3 hours, it is roughly 1.5 miles long and mostly level walking. We'll meet up in Palmyra, Va. 22963, at the Rail Trail, exact location and directions will be posted after signup. Class size is limited to 15 students. Handouts will be given out after class.
